07/10/21 Resurfacing Update
After removing the road surface on the section of Park Valley from No. 5A to the Lenton Road junction the contractors have uncovered an area of very soft ground which has delayed the works due to be carried out today (07/10/21).
This section of Park Valley will remain closed and parking will not be permitted until further tests can be carried out tomorrow. Access to driveways and garages during this time will be maintained.
We will update with further information tomorrow.
23/09/21 **RESURFACING UPDATE**
The resurfacing contractor started work on a section of Tattershall Drive on Wednesday removing the old road surface and laying the base course. Today they will be moving to Clumber Crescent North, between North and Tunnel Road again removing the old surface and laying the base course. On Friday they will carrying out the same works on Tunnel Road. Works will not be carried out over the weekend and vehicles will be free to drive and park on the partially completed roads.
The following week the team will be on The Park to lay the final wearing course on the roads before starting the process again on Cavendish Road East towards the middle of the week.
The temporary surface on Tunnel Road maybe in situ for longer than planned as we are waiting for Severn Trent Water to attend and survey a sewer which runs along that road.
16/09/21 Resurfacing Works
Resurfacing works are due to commence next week and will be carried out under a road closure between 8am & 5pm. A diversion route will be in place for traffic where necessary. Notices will be positioned along the route to advise drivers of the road closures and affected roads will receive a letter 2 weeks prior to works.
Where possible, we will try to maintain vehicular access for residents to private frontages as site operations allow. Thomas Bow Ltd will manage the access to and from the roads but unfortunately, there will be periods when vehicular access will not be possible. Thomas Bow will be able to provide advice on likely access windows as the works progress. Parking will be suspended on the roads during working hours. You may park on alternative roads; however, a note must be placed on your dashboard.
Please note we are working closely with Nottingham City Council and Thomas Bow Ltd to ensure bin collections are not affected by the resurfacing works.
An extensive program of resurfacing works are due to commence on 20th September. The carriageways highlighted in red on this plan are scheduled to be resurfaced.
The works will be carried out under a road closure and therefore we will require all vehicles to be removed from the carriageway prior to works starting. We will publish further details and a schedule of works in due course.
Advance road notices will be positioned along the route to advise drivers of the road closures and properties on the affected roads will receive letters prior to any works.
Please can you contact the office ASAP on 01159 474273 or email@example.com if you have vehicles parked on any of these roads that you will have difficulty moving from 20th September onwards.
Roads affected will be:
North Road Entrance
Cavendish Crescent North & Clumber Crescent North (sections highlighted)
Cavendish Road East
Tunnel Road (section highlighted)
Park Terrace (section highlighted)
Cavendish Road West
Holles Crescent (section highlighted)
Tattershall Drive (section highlighted)
