Street Schemes

A Neighbourhood Watch “street scheme” can be an excellent way to coordinate activity around the reduction of crime and fear of crime, and can also be a fantastic tool in generating community cohesion and spirit, and tackling anti-social behaviour. Getting to know a few neighbours, sharing information and experiences and generally keeping a look-out for one another need not be onerous or time consuming, but does help develop trust and re-assurance and will help improve the quality of life within The Park.

The Police and the NPEL cannot deal with the problems and issues arising from crime and anti-social behaviour alone; they need the help of the whole community within The Park. Neighbourhood Watch provides a way for local people to play an important part in addressing this balance and making their communities safer. A street scheme is a community initiative, which is supported by the NPEL and the Police, but not run by them. So success depends on what you, 'our' members, make of it!

A volunteer resident Street Coordinator supervises the scheme and liaises with the Police. They receive information and messages to keep them in touch with activities. If you are interested in setting up a street scheme or would like more information, please contact the Estate Office or simply upgrade your account to a full scheme when logged in.
