Just before the lockdown, contractors started the works to improve the shrub beds on both circuses by removing the existing planting. Due to the current situation they were unable to source the required replacement planting stock to enable the areas to be replanted during a suitable time of year. The decision was made by the Greens sub-committee to delay this planting until the autumn to ensure the plants had the best chance of establishing without the need of excessive irrigation. The areas have recently been planted with an annual flower seed mix to provide colour over the summer months with the permanent planting being undertaken in autumn.
